ClearClause is an AI-powered contract review tool that helps you understand what you're signing. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Email address — used to create your account and send support responses.
- Uploaded contract content — the text extracted from PDFs you upload for analysis.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage data — how many reviews you've run this billing period, to enforce plan limits.
How We Use Your Information
- To analyze your contracts using AI and return a risk score and clause breakdown.
- To process your subscription payments through Stripe.
- To respond to support requests you send via our contact form.
- To track usage and enforce the review limits of your plan.
- To improve the service over time based on aggregate, anonymised patterns.
We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.
Contract Data
When you upload a contract, the text is extracted from your PDF and sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis. The raw contract text is not stored permanently — only the analysis results (risk score, summary, and clause breakdowns) are saved to your account.
Your contract files are not retained after analysis is complete. We recommend not uploading contracts that contain sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary for the review.
Data Storage and Security
Your account data and analysis results are stored securely in Supabase, a SOC 2-compliant database platform. Access is protected by row-level security policies — your data is only accessible by you.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers in raw form. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Third-Party Services
ClearClause relies on the following trusted services to operate:
- Anthropic — AI contract analysis. anthropic.com/privacy
- Supabase — secure database and authentication.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — transactional email for support responses.
Each service operates under its own privacy policy and security standards.
Data Retention
Your review results are stored until you delete them — you can remove any review from your dashboard at any time.
If you close your account, you can request full deletion of all your data by emailing clearclausesupport@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — request a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Delete your data — request full account and data deletion.
- Correct inaccurate data — we will update anything that's wrong.
